Boo! Halloween is right around the corner, so we’ve put together a few tricks and treats to help you scare away those Halloween cravings and stick with your goals throughout the holiday season.

TRICK: KEEP A JOURNAL

Research has found that those who track their food intake are more likely to lose weight and maintain their weight loss goals. Journaling your intake can help remind you WHY you made these goals in the first place and keep you focused on them. We recommend using an app or special notebook to help making the tracking even easier.

TREAT: PROTEIN POWDER COOKIE DOUGH

Thought you couldn’t enjoy some cookie dough AND achieve your weight loss goals? Think again. This Healthy Protein Powder Cookie Dough recipe requires only 5 ingredients and is gluten free, paleo/vegan friendly and ready in just 5 minutes!

Ingredients:

1 Packet of Modere Sustain pea protein in vanilla

1 Tbsp coconut flour

Pinch of sea salt

2 Tbsp + 2 tsp Unsweetened applesauce

1 tsp Unsweetened vanilla almond milk (optional but recommended)

1/4 tsp Butter extract (optional but recommended)

1/2 Tbsp Dairy-free mini chocolate chips

Preparation:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the Sustain protein, coconut flour and sea salt.
  • Add in the applesauce, almond milk and butter extract. Stir until fluffy and mixed. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • ENJOY right away, or chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes! (This cookie dough is best served immediately as it does dry out quickly)

TRICK: CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES

Losing weight is hard, but especially so during the holiday season. All the more reason to celebrate all your successes to help keep you motivated. Share your achievements on social media and use the hashtag #MyModereTransformation! Don’t forget to celebrate not only scale changes, but also behavioral changes. For example, if you met your goal of drinking enough water for the week, plan a fun night out or participate in an activity in your community.

TREAT: SPOOKY FRUIT BASKET

Transform your fruit basket (with the help of Everyday Health) into an arrangement of spooky treats for a sweet snack—minus the scary sugar. Kids can get creative in the kitchen with this super-easy, no baking-required recipe!

All you’ll need is a few clementines, bananas, a nontoxic marker, regular chocolate chips and mini dark chocolate chips

Directions: Let your kids get creative with an unpeeled clementine. Your little monsters can design their own pumpkin faces using a nontoxic marker while you peel bananas. After peeling, cut the bananas in half crosswise. Have your kids press two mini dark chocolate chips into the side of the banana for eyes and a regular-size chocolate chip for a ghost mouth, then arrange your scary creations into an eye-catching Halloween treat to share with friends.

Happy Halloween from your friends at Modere!
