Winter may have officially began in December, but this is the time of year when the frigid temperatures, roaring inside heat, and cold-weather gear have kicked in. It’s also the time of year when our skin feel like it’s been tightened two sizes. Dryness, dehydration, and cracks are all happening.
It’s time to restore some of that much-needed, skin-softening moisture. We’ve picked 4 skin-care tips to help you take care of your winter skin.
- Get a Humidifier
Setting up a humidifier will add moisture to the dry air and to your skin. Most newer humidifier models are very quiet and come in various sizes to easily fit into small spaces.
You’ll want to set your humidifier to 30-50% humidity during the dry winter months. If you go above 60%, you’ll get too much condensation.
- Use Hydrating Products
Add a hydrating cream or serum into your skin-care regimen. It’s always important to apply moisturizing products, especially when the skin is still damp. Spray your skin with Modere’s Toner and apply the Antioxidant Gel for long-lasting hydration.
- Don’t Forget About Your Hands
You’re hands likely feel dry and cracked this time of the year. You need to lather your hands in a cream or lotion that contains hydrating ingredients like olive, jojoba, and grape seed oils. Modere’s Body Butter is an ultra-thick and luxurious cream that will moisturize even your roughest patches.
- Take Lukewarm Showers
When it’s cold outside, the last thing you want to do is take a lukewarm shower. But those long, piping-hot showers may be adding to your skin’s dryness. Brief, lukewarm showers are best to help your skin retain moisture. Immediately after your shower, be sure to apply lotion to lock in the moisture.
Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean your skin has to show it! Take good care of your skin during the colder months.
